‘Gitane means gypsy,’ say Casa Gitane founders Stella and Machteld. ‘We chose this fitting moniker because Casa Gitane is all about furniture and objects inspired by faraway places, world travels and a nomadic lifestyle. Both of us adore hand-crafted designs, unexpected finds, and natural, raw materials.’
‘Style has nothing to do with budget,’ the founders say, ‘and everything with expressing yourself.' Casa Gitane’s webstore is designed to be your style guide and treasure hunter. Casa Gitane is the passion project of two Amsterdam natives, stylist and keen traveller Stella Willing, and creator, planner and producer Machteld van der Werff. Where Stella is the artistic soul of Casa Gitane, Machteld brings dreams to life, by producing and managing shoots, concept designs and events. Both have extensive experience in the magazine business (Glamour, Vogue) as well as the interior design and fashion industries. Working together on a project, they quickly realised their combined talents formed the perfect launching pad for a unique business.
